I’m a huge Ready Player One fan. I’ve read the book twice and watched the movie more than a few times. While I knew that this was the Alan Silbestri score, not a collection of the various pop songs that appear throughout the movie, I’ll admit that I ordered this just to pad my order on ThinkGeek to get free shipping. It’s a limted edition, I love the franchise, so I went with it.

Something sort of sad about this edition, is that ThinkGeek will be closing in July of 2019. So, much like the movie is all about 80’s pop culture…this very version was an exclusive to an online retailer that will be only nostalgia very soon.

If you enjoy the Back to the Future soundtrack, you’ll enjoy this album. While it’s not quite as catchy, it’s a pleasent listen nonetheless. I would have loved if they included any material from “The Shining” which you heard in the movie, however, it’s no where to be found on this release.
